Getting started

Thank you for trying Ottiwise. Five minutes to set up, then about 20 minutes a day for your child.

Watch the 1-minute tour in

1. Set up (parent, 5 minutes)

  1. 1
Sign up and verify your emailUse your own email. If the verification email is not in your inbox after a minute, check spam.
  2. 2
Add your childFirst name, level (P3–P6) and a story theme (football, baking, animals…) for their word problems.
  3. 3
Pick the daily timeOn your Weekly report page. We suggest 20–30 minutes; anything beyond it is offered as optional.
  4. 4
Hand over the tablet or laptopWhen asked, allow the microphone (speaking practice) and camera (photos of written work).

2. Your child's first week

Day 1: the placement check (about 15 minutes). It is not a test. Skip anything not learned yet.

Every day after: open Today and work through the cards from top to bottom. Otti says when you are done.

In the first week, try each of these at least once:

Maths

  • Fluency sprint · 3 minutes of quick sums, no calculator.
  • Spot the model · Pick the problem type. Don’t solve it.
  • Build · Real problems with hints. Try “Photo my working” on paper.
  • Expedition · A timed mini paper. Good for a weekend.

华文 Chinese

  • 字词 cards · Tap “Hear it”, then say how well you knew it.
  • Stories · Tap any word you don’t know to see pinyin and meaning.
  • 朗读 read aloud · Record yourself; each character is coloured.

Science

  • Mystery of the day · Predict, test it in the simulation, explain.
  • Answer workshop · Rewrite your answer until it earns full marks.

English

  • Sentence forge · Join two sentences with the pattern of the day.
  • Story studio · Write a story, then improve one paragraph.

Just for fun

  • Teach Pip · Explain something you learned to Otti’s pup.
  • Otti’s den · Spend pebbles earned from good habits.
  • The map · Places light up as you learn and fog over if forgotten.

3. Each week (parent, 10 minutes)

  • Open the Weekly report: one thing to praise, the top gaps and why, and every subject at a glance.
  • AI marking can be wrong. Under Written answers marked by AI, change any mark you disagree with. Unsure ones are listed first.

4. Tell us what you think

  • After each session your child can tap How was that? It takes one second and helps us most.
  • Anything confusing, broken or brilliant: email support@ottiwise.com, ideally with a screenshot.
Good to know: this is an early pilot. Read-aloud does not grade Chinese tones yet, and speaking and photo marking need the microphone and camera allowed.
